Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) opens mouth and inserts foot.

On Meet The Press today, the good senator said that the President misused his authority to go into Iraq. Senator Biden said the the President was given authorization to avoid war. I deceive you not. I guess he had to do one better on Senator Kerry, who said the President was given the authority to threaten the use of force in negotiations. Then Senator Biden went on to explain that since 1994 from Gingrich all the way to Rove and Bush. Republican policies caused all the ills in our country and he even included the Virginia Tech shootings and Don Imus. He did leave out that President Clinton presided over the first six years and President Bush the last six years since then. When pressed by Russert on how he can put the VT shootings and Don Imus on Republicans, he lamed out on the answer.

John Edwards gets ouched in the debate

Brian Williams asked a barbed question about the privilege Mr Edwards enjoys. No answer would be good, but the ‘my daddy worked at the mill’ came back out. It looks like Brian Williams is on the Barak Hillary train.

Defeat in Iraq

As General Sun-Tzu said in the ‘Art of War’. The goal is not to kill your enemy, the goal is to destroy his will to fight. Right now the American people, fed by a daily dose of bad news from Iraq, have lost their will to fight. It will start there, and move to Afghanistan. The Islamic extemists can taste the victory we are going to hand them. It is amazing how synced up the Bush bashers and our enemies are in their messages and actions.

Sen Reid (D-NV) said “Now I believe myself . . . that this war is lost, and that the surge is not accomplishing anything, as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday”. Not to be outdone the terrorists we are fighting killed more the next day just to help that message sink in. All the time, this violence is being blamed on the US. How many car bombs have we set up and exploded? Exactly how does fighting terrorists cause the problem?

I sadly agree with the defeatists and retreatists. The war in Iraq, as configured by the worldwide media, has been a propaganda war from the start. Sadly all my emails to the White House and congress fell on deaf ears. Facts on the ground indicate we are losing less people per time period than any other long war. We are also saving more people from certain death due to battlefield medical advances, yet that is framed as look at how many wounded soldiers there are. If they had died, it would be framed as look at how many soldiers have died. There has been no intellectual curiousity towards what is actually being accomplished.

It is time to move this war of their choosing not our, into the next phase. It is time for the world body to sit down at the table and establish the UNCTEF, short for the United Nations Counter Terrorism Elimination Force. First the UN must decide to have an international force. Make rules that allow background checks of members to be accomplish so no terrorist sympathizers are on the UNCTEF. Build the UNCTEF from special operators and other terrorist fighters. Keep this extremely secret but allow oversight in the UN security council. Include a council of representatives from major world media outlets that qualify as not terrorist sympathizers. Once formed, the UNCTEF would have authority anywhere on the globe to kill terrorists and destroy cells. All signatory countries would be obligated to contribute members. All UN members, even terrorist supporting nations, have to allow the UNCTEF to enter and leave. The UNCTEF would know which countries to knock on the door and which to sneak inside. They would have the ability to stop money moving quickly and deny terrorists funds they need. This would truly test the world’s commitment, but it would keep terrorism fighting away from propaganda and back to shooting. Any countries that don’t cooperate will look bad, instead of the other way around. At the same time, the UNCTEF would be held accountable for civilian death caused by them.

It is now time to fight fire with fire. The terrorists wear civilian clothes and hide amongst the civilian population, turn about is fair play. Not only will this take away their propaganda machine, it will allow the UNCTEF to operate in a similar manner to the terrorist. I think that would level the playing field. After a while they will lose their will to fight, if we combine this political reforms in terrorist generating countries. otherwise we will get better and better at detecting and killing terrorists.

It is amazing to me that the American people, as smart as they are, could believe that fighting terrorism is bad. How can they blame the US for the terrorists we are fighting? Well, it all started as a political movement. In 2004, Bush bashers decided to make Iraq an election issue, while it did not succeed, it did start an avalanche of propaganda. Once the effort failed to change the leadership of the country, the Bush bashers could not go back for some reason. The same issues in 2004 were hammered in the American people for 2 more years. Add to that the Islamic extremist’s propaganda machine and then throw in a few lies about peoples positions on stem cells, and, voila, a new congress is elected to ulfill the goals of the terrorists we are fighting. The investment in defeat is tremendous, many political careers are dependant on our losing in Iraq. Most of them are Democrats, but some Republicans could lose elections based on Iraq. If politicians are fighting wars, why have a military? If wars are fought in the newspapers, why have a military?

I don’t think this is a fight for the military as we know it now. I know it is not a fight for politicians, they just perpetuate inaction and mediocrity. I think this is a fight for an elite, honest, nimble, stealthy, and deadly force supported by all good countries that operates in the shadows better than the terrorists can. We can destroy their will to fight, we can’t let them destroy ours.
