Hello 2008!!

I really mean it. This should be the new holiday greeting that is politically correct and all-inclusive. We wouldn’t want to offend anyone by offering the incorrect salutation. Nor should any one have to view decorations that are religious in nature. I am looking forward to the new year. All my 2007 stuff is complete. Now I will enjoy the last two weeks of the year with my family.

Next Year we will elect Hillary Clinton as president. The high energy taxes will kick in for winter 2009/2010. Gasoline prices will get hit with $1 to $2 additional taxes. Hillary wants us to be more like Europe. She wants a stagnant economy and high unemployment because we have to deal with terrogenic climate change by blaming humans for ‘tipping points’ (our 0.02% contribution to green house gasses which accounts for our 5% contribution to CO2). The other problem is that we have to erase religion from the public square, not just keep church officials from influencing the government. Too bad the current morality we enjoy derives from religion. Oh well, being wrong never stopped politicians before.

They were wrong in 1986 with immigration reform that actually generated the 20 million illegals we now have ‘doing the work we won’t do’. When Hillary signs comprehensive immigration reform and makes them Americans, who will do the work they won’t do? Huh? They were wrong about creating biofuel legislation, which now has lead to food shortages and rising food costs. It takes 1 gallon of diesel fuel to make 1 1/4 gallon of biodiesel, with a net gain of 1/4 gallon. Burn the oil, eat the food. Great work Senator Durbin!

They will be wrong about climate change, but we probably should give Dems a reason to waste 1 trillion dollars and raise unemployment, since George Bush is wasting 1 trillion in Iraq (not Afghanistan mind you), well almost, after he spends another 400 billion. Of course there are hidden costs, so George Bush is really spending much much more. Ok, so let’s let the Dems waste 2 trillion since this climate change thing affects all mankind within 20 years (9 years until we cannot stop it). Doom and gloom!

The arguments have been made that the debate is over. That’s fine. Then, how does man play a role in all the past climate changes? I missed that part. I also missed the part about how the CO2 was 3 times todays levels when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. How did it get to today’s levels? I have heard over and over that today’s level is the highest in 650,000 years. Ok, so then our contribution has pushed the levels that high (today’s level). There must be an explainable mechanism that can describe how the CO2 amplifier effect works.

Humans emit 5% of the total CO2 annually, and that causes catastrophic climate change. If that amount is not added, then the earths climate would change much slower or not at all. I think the deniers are the folks that say that climate change could be halted.

One last thing. If the oceans are rising at such a high rate in certain islands off the coast of India, how does sea level mean one thing there and on thing here on the USA east coast? Could erosion be at play? How can sea level rise 1″ per year in one place and 1′ per year in India?  If the seas were to rise 10 feet over the next 20 years, doesn’t that mean we will have a 6″ rise average per year everywhere? Or will it happen all at once like an asymptotic wave. Melting at 1″ per year or so until the 15th year and then doing the other 8′ 9″ in the last five years? Mr. Gore? <crickets chirping>

Please Help ‘Friends of Sligo Creek’

I live 1/4 mile from Sligo Creek. I have had contact with the Friends of Sligo Creek

Please give what you can to their cause. My dog swims in the creek. (She gets a good washdown afterwards)
